Degsy Williamson
Degs was born in South Manchester and grew up on the streets of Burnage, (just around the corner from the Gallagher brothers). Liam and Degs’ paths would cross on several occasions over the next few years as they shared a number of mutual mates. Degs also had the Gallaghers’ passion for music and was a massive Smiths fan, but when Oasis came along they took the biscuit (in fact they took the whole packet of McVities biscuits), and Degs was hooked.
Being a born and bred Mancunian in the 90s obviously entailed many trips to the iconic Haçienda, mixing with Manchester’s oi polloi. Liam and Degs’ mums also used to work together at McVities biscuit factory. There are other parallels too, not just getting their record collections from ‘Mr Sifter’. They were both lead singers in bands in the 90s (one of which became slightly more successful than the other), caught the same night bus home from town, same loves, same hates, same passions, oh, and not forgetting, they are both massive Man City fans.
Degs and Derek have performed together at numerous gigs as part of Degs’ band ‘The Oasis Experience‘, delighting fans across the globe with their renditions of the Gallagher brothers’ classics.
