Nick Brine
Nick has been a freelance engineer since 1996 and has experience of working in most of the major studios in the UK and across Europe and America. He started his career as an assistant at Rockfield in 1993 and soon became house engineer/Producer. He has continued to work at Rockfield on many projects. Nick also spent 5 years working for Producer Owen Morris on a lot of major albums (The Verve, Ash, Oasis) . He is also a musician and songwriter and after being in a couple of successful bands, used these skills to progress into production where his credits speak for themselves. As a studio design consultant, he has built/consulted many studios for high profile artists (Oasis, The Darkness, Seasick Steve), school’s, colleges and business’ as well as running a small independent record label – Flip Flop Records.
Nick was Studio Manager and Producer at Leeders Farm Studios, a superb fully residential recording facility in Norfolk. That was put together with Dan Hawkins from The Darkness. This studio was voted “UK best residential studio 2009”. Nick’s latest project has been to put together Leeders Vale Studios. A superb facility offering great recording options at an affordable price and a new studio as the headquarters of Flip Flop Records. The label includes artists such as Dodgy, Max Rafferty (The Kooks, The355’s, Sahaji, The Rogues and The Bartells.
Nick currently owns or works out of Leeders Vale Studios, Rockfield Studios, Flip Flop HQ, Orbita Sonora Studios Spain and La Hacienda in Spain.
