Seán McAusland

Seán is delighted to take on the role of the show’s musical director and keys player. Seán was taught to play guitar at school, before going on to learn piano and keyboards, and later teaching himself to play accordion in a folk rock band. Over the last thirteen years, he has played in a variety of acts that have taken him all round the UK, Europe, and as far afield as the Middle East and North America.

Seán first started playing professionally in a Beatles tribute show back in 2011, and often plays with former Oasis drummer Chris Sharrock at Liverpool’s Cavern Club with the resident Beatles tribute band.

In 2022, he joined Walk Right Back: The Everly Brothers Story on piano, having since completed two UK tours and four tours of Canada. From March 2023, he portrayed Buddy Holly as part of the show, and joined the long-established rock and roll variety show That’ll Be the Day that summer.

He is a huge fan of 60s music and his biggest influences from the era include The Beach Boys, The Hollies and Simon and Garfunkel. He cites Nicky Hopkins and Ray Charles as piano heroes.

Outside of touring, he enjoys writing and recording music in his home studio. His songs have been picked up by local radio shows, including BBC Introducing Coventry and Warwickshire.
